ABOUT Mango Sandana RECIPE

This recipe is made using coconut milk and it is made on the day of Shitala Saptami which comes in the month of Shravan. Some people call it Sandane and some call it Sanjani too. It is a Maharashtrian dish.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup Idli rava (Sooji)
  2. Coconut Milk (Thick) 1/2 cup
  3. Sugar 1/2 cup
  4. Pinch of salt
  5. 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
  6. Saffron strands as per taste
  7. Mango pulp 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Add coconut milk in rava and keep it aside for half an hour.
  2. Add sugar, salt, cardamom powder, mango pulp and saffron strands.
  3. Mix all things properly and keep it aside for 3 to 4 hours.
  4. Later put the mixture in a plate and steam it like a dhokla.
  5. Steam it for 15 minutes.
  6. Once it cools down, cut it into pieces and serve.
