Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Drumstick 3 (Muringakka)
  2. Salt to taste
  3. turmeric a pinch
  4. For curry paste
  5. Grated coconut 1 cup
  6. Shallots / small onions 4 to 5 nos
  7. Garlic crushed 1/2 tsp
  8. Ginger crushed 1 tsp
  9. Methi Dana ( fennel seeds) 10 to 12 nos
  10. Green chilli 1 (according to taste)
  11. Curd 1 tbsp
  12. Kasoori Methi 1 tsp
  13. Coriander leaves finely chopped 1 tsp
  14. Oil for seasoning 1 tsp
  15. Asafoetida a pinch
  16. Mustard seeds a few
  17. Curry patta 1 or 2

Instructions

  1. Cut drumsticks length wise. Boil with 1 cup water.
  2. Add salt and turmeric. Just half cook till it cooks, coarse grind shallots, coconut powder, fennel seeds, ginger, garlic and chilli.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, add asafoetida, mustard seeds and curry patta. Adf ground paste. Saute for a while. Add half cooked drumstick. Adjust salt and water.
  4. After it cooks, add beaten curd. Dry roast kasoori methi and add to the Thoran. Serve hot with rice.
