Ingredients to make Fried Chocolate and Coconut Modaks

  • For chocolate sauce:
  • 25 grams of cocoa powder
  • 15 grams of sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups of milk
  • For the outer covering:
  • 2 cup maida
  • 4-5 tablespoons chocolate sauce
  • salt as per your choice
  • water to knead the dough
  • For the Filling:
  • 2 tablespoons of ghee
  • 2 whole grated coconuts
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1 small green cardamom
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk
  • ghee for frying

How to make Fried Chocolate and Coconut Modaks

  1. For Chocolate sauce:
  2. Mix all the ingredients of chocolate sauce and make a silky smooth mixture.
  3. Heat this mixture for 2-3 minutes on a medium flame.
  4. For the outer covering:
  5. Mix all the ingredients except water.
  6. Add water at regular intervals and make a soft dough.
  7. Filling:
  8. Put ghee into the pan, add grated coconut, cocoa powder, sugar, milk and heat it for 4-5 minutes on a medium flame.
  9. For making the Modaks:
  10. Make small balls of the dough and roll them and make small puris.
  11. Fill the filling in the puris.
  12. Give them the shape of modaks.
  13. Fry them in ghee on a medium flame for 5 minutes.
  14. Put them in the plate and drizzle chocolate sauce and garnish with chopped dry fruits.
