Yam Coconut Prawn Curry

Ingredients to make Yam Coconut Prawn Curry

  • 250 gms Yam, cut into bug dices
  • 200 gms Prawn
  • 50ml mustard oli
  • 1tsp cumin seeds
  • 100gms mustard seeds, soaked and pasted
  • 1no of onion paste, medium sized
  • 6 cloves of garlic, paste
  • 1tsp ginger paste
  • 1no of tomato chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp turmaric powder
  • 1 1/2tsp red chili powder
  • 2nos of Green chilis chopped
  • 20ml coconut milk
  • 2TBSP GRATED coconut
  • 1tbsp ghee
  • salt to taste

How to make Yam Coconut Prawn Curry

  1. Marinate the prawns with tumeric powder and salt and fry it in mustard oil.
  2. Boil the Yam in water and salt for atleast 8min and fry it also in the same oil
  3. Heat the mustard oil in a kadai.. Add cumin seeds. When it ll start crackling add onion, ginger-galic paste. Cook for some time then add tomatoes and green chili.
  4. After that put turmeric powder, red chili powder and mustard paste. Cook the masala nicely..
  5. After the masala has been cooked add coconut milk and cook further..
  6. Now add sm water and let it simmer..
  7. When it will simmer lil bit put the Yam and Prawn
  8. Add some grated coconut and garam masala
  9. Put some ghee, chopped corriender leaves, grated coconut before serving..
  10. Serve hot with steam rice..

My Tip:

Put sone lemon juice because of Yam
