Rawa/Sooji ki Kachori

Ingredients to make Rawa/Sooji ki Kachori

  • sooji 2 cups
  • Ajwain 2 tsp
  • ghee 2 Tbsp
  • water 1 cup
  • salt to taste
  • Boiled potatoes 2 cups
  • Finely chopped onion 1 cup
  • Green peas(optional) 1/2 cup
  • anardana 2 tsp
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • ginger 2 tbsp
  • coriander powder 2 tbsp
  • oil for frying

How to make Rawa/Sooji ki Kachori

  1. Heat water in a non-stick pan, add ajwain, ghee, salt and bring it to a boil. Add sooji, mix well and turn off the heat.
  2. Transfer this mixture into a bowl, mix well and knead into a dough.
  3. In another bowl, add potatoes, onion, green chilli, peas, ginger, anardana, coriander powder, garam masala and salt to taste. Mix well.
  4. Take small equal portion of the dough, flatten it. Add some stuffing and shape them into kachoris.
  5. Deep fry the kachoris till golden brown.
  6. Serve hot with green chutney or ketchup.

My Tip:

Sooji dough should not turn too cool else it will turn dry and hard. If it happens, wet your hands with normal water and knead the dough again until smooth.
