Jhatpat Tawa Chicken

Ingredients to make Jhatpat Tawa Chicken

  • Boneless chicken cut into very small pieces. The smaller the better.
  • onions 2, finely chopped
  • chilli powder 1 tbsp
  • Tandoori masala 1 tbsp
  • ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  • lemon juice or curd 2 tbsp (Optional)
  • coriander or curry leaves a handful
  • Green chillies slit 2 to 3, as per taste
  • salt to taste
  • oil 2 to 3 tbsp

How to make Jhatpat Tawa Chicken

  1. Marinade the chicken with all the masalas and leave it for 20 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a non stick pan or wok and add the onions green chillies and curry leaves.
  3. Saute the onions for a while.
  4. Add the marinated chicken and stir until well mixed on high flame.
  5. Keep the flame on high for the next 3 to 4 minutes, making sure to keep stirring in between.
  6. Lower the flame and cover it.
  7. It will be done in 10 minutes. No need of adding any water.
  8. Garnish with coriander and serve hot with rice or puris or chapatis.

My Tip:

Boneless chicken is best for this and it should be cut into very small pieces for the best results.
