ABOUT Coconut Chicken RECIPE

Chicken prepared with coconut and yoghurt.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chicken - 500 gms
  2. Coconut milk - 4 tsp
  3. Coconut - cut into small pieces
  4. Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  5. Coriander seeds - 2 tsp
  6. Dry red chillies - 2
  7. Onion - 1 (Paste)
  8. Ginger paste - 1 tsp
  9. Cream - 2 tsp
  10. Yoghurt - 1/3 cup
  11. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  12. Few curry leaves
  13. Oil as required
  14. Salt to taste
  15. Sugar just to taste
  16. Vinegar - 2 tsp
  17. Capsicum - 1, cubed

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces with vinegar, salt and keep for 1 hour.
  2. In a pan dry roast the cumin seeds, coriander seeds, dry red chillies and coconut pieces. Grind them into a paste.
  3. Add oil in a pan, add onion paste and saute. Add ginger paste, salt and sugar. Saute well.
  4. Add the chicken pieces and then add the ground paste and capsicum pieces. Saute well again.
  5. Add a little water and cover till the chicken gets soft.
  6. Add the cream and coconut milk.
  7. Take another pan, add a little oil, add mustard seeds, curry leaves and turn off the flame. Add yoghurt.
  8. Add this yoghurt mixture to the chicken, mix properly and keep for 1 minute.
  9. Serve it hot.

Like it. It's good for non veg coconut dish lovers specially with curry leaves. Very aromatic.
