Coconut Burfi

Ingredients to make Coconut Burfi

  • Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
  • sugar - 1/3 cup
  • cardamon powder - 1/4 tsp
  • ghee - 2 tsp
  • cashew nuts a few

How to make Coconut Burfi

  1. Fry cashews in ghee and keep ready.
  2. Grease a plate.
  3. Add grated coconut, sugar into a non-stick pan. Saute on a low flame.
  4. The sugar will release water and then eventually it will become thick.
  5. Add in cardamom powder and fried cashews.
  6. When it leaves the sides of the pan transfer it into a greased plate and flatten it.
  7. Draw lines when it is still hot.
  8. Cool and separate the pieces.

My Tip:

While grating the coconut grate be careful that you do not grate the brown part near the shell. Do not saute for a long time after it forms a mass since it may make the burfi hard. Once it forms a mass, transfer it to a greased plate.
