Halwa fish and prawn curry. Goan style curry. Served with rice.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Halwa fish 1/2 kg
  2. Prawns 1/4 kg
  3. Oil as required
  4. Garlic crushed 4 to 5 cloves
  5. Curry leaves a few
  6. Rai 1 tsp
  7. Haldi 1/2 tsp
  8. Red chilli powder 2 tsp
  9. Jeera powder 1 tsp
  10. Dhania powder 1 tsp
  11. Sauf powder 1/2 tsp
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Kokum 7 to 8
  14. Fresh coconut milk 1 cup
  15. Wheat flour and water for thickening
  16. Coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Heat oil, add garlic, curry leaves, rai and saute till it begins to crackle. Add in all the powder masala plus haldi then saute it again.
  2. Then add 1 glass of water when it comes to a boil. Add kokum, salt, add the fish, prawns and coconut milk. Cook until fish and prawns are cooked.
  3. Then thicken the gravy with wheat flour mix. Add as per the choice of the consistency of the gravy required.
  4. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with rice.
