Green Tomato Curry

Ingredients to make Green Tomato Curry

  • Green tomatoes 5, chopped big chunks
  • coriander 50 gms
  • ginger 1 inch
  • Roasted peanuts 50 gm
  • Fresh grated coconut 1/2 cup
  • garlic pearls 6
  • salt to taste
  • turmeric 1 tsp
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • Roasted green chillies 4
  • Toor dal 3 tbsp

How to make Green Tomato Curry

  1. For curry paste: Take fresh coriander, ginger, garlic, roasted green chillies, peanuts, coconut, garam masala, turmeric, salt in a mixer and blend into a smooth paste.
  2. Chop green tomatoes, pressure cook them along with washed toor daal.
  3. Take 3 whistles on cooker and turn off.
  4. In a wok add 2 tsp of oil, saute the green curry paste till it starts leaving oil.
  5. Transfer the pressure cooked green tomatoes and toor dal to the paste, add 2 cups of water. Bring it to a boil, let it simmer for 5 minutes. Yummy and tangy green tomato curry is ready.
  6. Serve hot with phulkas or plain parathas or steamed rice.

My Tip:

Saute the curry paste well almost for about 8 minutes.
