Ingredients to make Dalia upma flavored steamed wada

  • 1cup broken wheat cooked (leftover)
  • 1 tsp tsp oil
  • 1 tsp spilt urad dal
  • 1 tsp channa dal
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 cup curd
  • 1/4 cup semolina
  • salt to taste
  • 1tsp Eno fruit salt
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • cucumber
  • 1tsp mustard seeds

How to make Dalia upma flavored steamed wada

  1. Take leftover cooked dalia in a mixing bowl or vessel.
  2. Add oil to the pan and add mustard seeds and when the mustard seeds starts to sputter, add spilt urdd dal, channa dal and fry till the dal turns golden brown color.
  3. Then add curry leaves and fry for 2 seconds. Wash and grate a carrot and add it to the seasoned ingredients and stir-fry the carrots in high flame for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Take these to the mixing bowl. Add chopped coriander leaves to the mixing bowl containing dalia .Add curd and semolina .mix well.
  5. Grease an idli mould and place this mix. Steam for 20 mins. Serve hot with cherry tomatoes.

My Tip:

Serve with any sauce or dhania-pudina chutney or coconut chutney. It is the best use of left over dalia for breakfast .
