Potato Farls

Ingredients to make Potato Farls

  • potatoes - 6
  • bottle gourd - 1 medium size
  • maida or white flour - 4 tbsp ( increase or decrease as per need)
  • Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • pepper - 2 tsp (increase or decrease as per your taste)
  • salt - as needed
  • butter - 1 tbsp

How to make Potato Farls

  1. Boil potatoes and mash them well. To the mashed potatoes add butter, grated bottle gourd, salt, maida, baking powder, pepper and salt. Mix everything well and knead to get a soft dough.
  2. Take a big portion of dough and roll it to a round shape with 6 to 8 inches thick. Usually it is used to cut into four while serving.
  3. But I made into small to pack for kids lunch boxes. Cook it on a dosa tawa, smearing butter all around and cook on both side.

My Tip:

You can avoid using bottle gourd to get exact taste of potato farls, I added it for healthy purpose.
