Ingredients to make Veg Momos

  • 250 gms all purpose flour/maida
  • 1 tsp chopped ginger
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • 100 gms chopped cabbage
  • 100 gms soaked and finely ground soya chunks
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • salt to taste

How to make Veg Momos

  1. Take maida, salt and mix. Add water and knead a firm dough. Cover and keep aside for 15 minutes.
  2. For stuffing : Heat oil in a pan. Add garlic and ginger. Saute for 3-4 seconds. Add all the finely chopped cabbage and soya chunks (ground).
  3. Add salt and stir fry the vegetables on a high flame till half cooked.
  4. Filling and shaping the momos: Make balls of the dough. Take each ball and dust with flour. Roll each ball into a thin circle. Try to get the edges to be thin and centre to be normal.
  5. Place sufficient stuffing in the centre. Lift all the edges. Start folding and join all in the centre. Prepare all momos this way and keep them covered under a moist napkin.
  6. Heat water in a idli pan. Let the water boil. In a greased idli mould place the momos keeping space between them to avoid sticking together. Steam momos for few minutes when dough stops sticking then the momos are done.
