ABOUT Nankhatai RECIPE

Nankhatai are shortbread biscuits popular in India and Pakistan. The word Nankhatai is derived from Persian word Naan meaning bread and Khatai from an Afghan word meaning Biscuit.

Ingredients Serving: 24

  1. 1 cup ghee
  2. 1 cup Icing sugar
  3. 2 1/2 cups Flour (Maida)
  4. 1/2 cup gram flour (besan)
  5. Almonds and Berries as per choice

Instructions

  1. Mix the ghee and icing sugar
  2. Sift in the maida and besa
  3. Stuff with badam and berries
  4. Mould into smooth dough
  5. Roll into balls about 1.5 inches wide 
  6. Pat down onto greased tray. Bake at 190 degree centigrade for 20-25 minutes.
