My favourite sweet dish for almost every auspicious occasion.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 cup suji/semolina
  2. 1 cup sugar
  3. 3 cups of water
  4. 1 cardamom (elaichi)
  5. 1/2 cup crushed cashwes nuts and almonds
  6. 1 tbsp grated coconut
  7. 2 tbsp ghee

Instructions

  1. Take a wok, add ghee and turn on the gas.
  2. Add suji and roast till the colour becomes a little brown. Stir in between otherwise it will get over roasted.
  3. Meanwhile, in a pan add 3 cups of water and 1 cup of sugar.
  4. Bring it to a boil, stir in between and make sure the sugar is dissolved completely.
  5. Add in crushed elaichi.
  6. When the suji get roasted add sugar dissolved water into the wok.
  7. Stir continuously add in some dryfruits.
  8. Stir till your halwa become smooth and not sticking into the wok.
  9. Sprinkle rest of the dryfruits and grated coconut.
