Yellow cupcakes with chocolate frosting

Ingredients to make Yellow cupcakes with chocolate frosting

  • maida flour - 1.5 cups
  • sugar - 1 cup
  • Baking powder - 1.5 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 th tsp
  • butter - 1/2 cup
  • egg - 1
  • egg yolks - 2
  • Vanilla extract - 1.5 tsp
  • yoghurt - 1/2 cup
  • Chocolate frosting :
  • Dark chocolate - 120 gm
  • butter - 2/3 rd cup
  • Icing sugar - 1 cup + 1/3 rd cup
  • Vanilla extract - 1.5 tsp

How to make Yellow cupcakes with chocolate frosting

  1. Whisk the soft butter with sugar until fluffy.
  2. Then add the egg and egg yolks one by one while whisking.
  3. Then add the vanilla extract and whisk again.
  4. Sieve the flour, baking powder and salt together.
  5. Now fold in the yoghurt and the flour mix into the egg mixture, in 2 parts. Mix until everything is combined.
  6. Pour them into cupcake tray lined with muffin liners.
  7. Bake them at 170 for 20-25 minutes. Cool.
  8. Whisk the soft butter until fluffy.
  9. Add the icing sugar and vanilla extract and whisk again till it is smooth and fluffy.
  10. Now melt the chocolate using a double boiler or microwave. Cool it and add it to the icing sugar mix.
  11. Whisk again and then pipe them onto the cupcakes using a piping bag.
