Ingredients to make Chocolate mud cake

  • maida - 1.5 cup
  • sugar - 1 cup
  • Cocoa powder - 1/4th cup
  • Baking powder - 1 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4th tsp
  • Melted butter - 1/3 rd cup
  • Warm water - 1 cup
  • lemon juice - 1 tbsp
  • Vanilla extract - 1 tsp
  • Ganache frosting:
  • Chocolate chips/chunks : 150gm
  • cream : 1/3rd cup
  • butter : 3 tbsp

How to make Chocolate mud cake

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients and and add the melted butter to it.
  2. Mix the lemon juice into the warm water and pour the mixture into the above. Add the vanilla extract as well.Whisk it for about 3-4 minutes. (P.S: I have used an electric beater to whisk it.)
  3. Bake this in a preheated oven at 180 degree centigrade for 30 minutes or till the toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  4. Melt all the above ingredients together in a double boiler and remove, cool for a couple of minutes.
  5. Pour this ganache over the cake and let it set. I had kept this in fridge to fasten the process.
