Ingredients to make Chocolate shaded mango cake

  • 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour / maida
  • baking powder 1/2 tsp
  • baking soda 1/4 tsp
  • sugar 3/4 cup
  • Liquid ingredients:
  • Milk 1/4 cup
  • curd 1/2 cup
  • mango pulp 1/2 cup
  • oil 2 tbsp
  • Yellow food colour (Optional) 1 pinch
  • For glaze:
  • Dark chocolate chunks 1 cup
  • Milk 2 tsp
  • Puree of mango 2 tbsp
  • Water for double boiling

How to make Chocolate shaded mango cake

  1. In a bowl sieve maida ,baking powder and baking soda.
  2. In another bowl mix lukewarm milk with sugar.
  3. Add curd and oil to the sugar mixture.
  4. Lastly add mango pulp and yellow food colour.
  5. Mix liquid mixture with dry maida slowly.
  6. Grease a cake tin with oil and sprinkle maida. Tap out the excess maida. Pour the cake batter in the cake tin.
  7. Preheat the oven at 180 degree centigrade.
  8. Bake it in a preheated oven for 10-15 minutes.
  9. Check by inserting a toothpick or knife in the middle.
  10. After completely cooling down, remove from the cake tin and keep on a wire rack.
  11. Preparing chocolate glaze:
  12. On a medium heat, take a big bowl with 1 cup water.
  13. In another heat proof bowl take some chocolate chunks.
  14. Melt it by the double boiler technique.
  15. Add in milk and mix it well.
  16. When it melts completely, let it cool for a few minutes.
  17. Pour this chocolate glaze on the cake.
  18. In a piping bag, fill mango puree.
  19. For shading make lines of mango puree on the chocolate glaze.
  20. Swirl it with a fork.
