One can make it more nutritious by adding sprouts, pomegranate etc. Mamra Chatpati is a snack which is originated from Gujarat, the Western Coastline State of India. Gujarati cuisine is not only varied and lip-smacking but are also high in nutritional values. Different cooking styles and the combination of spices are incorporated in preparing different dishes marking uniqueness of each. Gujarati snacks are popular in every region of India and Mamra Chatpati is one of the famous snacks of Gujarat. Gujarati snacks are mostly deep fried and prepared out of gram flour. Mamra Chatpati is available in almost every part of India, though it is known by different name in different regions. The names are 'Sev Mamra Chat', 'Sev Murmura', 'Sev Kurmura', 'Sev Mamra' and 'Mamra Chatpati'. You can easily prepare it anytime at your home. Firstly, wash the mamra and put it in a sieve. Heat some oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, when the mustard seeds crackled add sesame seeds, hing and vegetables like potato, onion, capsicum and green chilies and cook them till they become soft. You can add the other vegetables of your choice. Add salt, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, mamra, curry leaves, tomato, sugar and lemon juice and mix them well. Garnish with sev and bundi. If you want to prepare a healthy Mamra Chatpati then you can add some sprouts and pomegranate seeds.
