ABOUT Vrat wali kesari Phirni RECIPE

A traditional Indian pudding made with Sama rice ( barnyard Millet ).

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Sama rice - 1/2 bowl ( small katori )
  2. Sugar - 4 tbsp
  3. Milk -3/4th litre
  4. Green elaichi - 4
  5. Almonds - 10 ( ground)
  6. Saffron - a pinch

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak rice for atleast one hour .
  2. Then make a fine paste by grinding it along with elaichis.
  3. Now heat milk in a heavy bottom pan , add rice paste , grounded almonds and saffron strands ... Keep stirring so that there are no lumps .
  4. Cook on low flame for 8-10 minutes . When it's almost done add sugar, Give it a good Stirr ... And cook for another 2-3 mts . Put the gas off .
  5. Now let it cool transfer it to serving bowls . Garnish with saffron strands and refrigerate . Serve chilled .
