Ingredients to make Bread chocolate burfi

  • 2 cups fresh white bread crumbs ( I used 7 slices of brown bread)
  • 3 table spoon clarified butter or ghee
  • 2 table spoon liquid chocolate ( I used neutella or can used grated pieces of any chocolate of your choice)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 tea spoon crushed cardamom seeds

How to make Bread chocolate burfi

  1. Make the bread crumbs,for this break the bread in small pieces and do not remove the edges, I used a grinder to make crumbs.
  2. Dry roast the bread crumbs over medium heat in a frying pan or karahi for 2 mins stirring continuously (with white bread this will take about 5-6 minutes). Roasted bread crumbs will be light golden in colour .
  3. Sprinkle the sugar and keep roasting .sugar will be caramelized with bread crumbs and will be light brown in colour, this process will take about 8 minutes.
  4. Add cardamom and milk, keep stirring , mixture will be the texture of soft dough.
  5. Add ghee or butter along with choclate syrup and roast the mix with ghee for another 5 minute until mix will start leaving the edges.
  6. Add the walnuts and fold it with mix.
  7. Turn off the heat and pour into over a greased plate.
  8. Spread it in square shape let it set for about half until it comes to room temperature It 'll takes 10 minutes to set.
  9. Cut them in to square pieces.
  10. Delicious burfi is ready, you can store the burfi outside for a week and refrigerate for a month.

My Tip:

If you are using brown bread then no need to roast it too much just heat slightly with ghee.
