Ingredients to make Nankhatai

  • Refined flour/maida- 1/2 cup
  • Gram flour- 1/2 cup
  • Semolina - 1/2 cup
  • Baking soda-1/4 tsp
  • Ghee- 1 1/2 cup
  • powdered sugar - 1 1/2 cup
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Almonds - half sliced for garnishing

How to make Nankhatai

  1. Mix ghee and sugar powder with a food processor or a spoon. The mixture should become smooth, light and creamy.
  2. Add all the dry ingredients in the mixture and mix well.
  3. Mix everything and avoid kneading, make a smooth dough.
  4. Make medium sized flat balls from the dough.
  5. Press sliced almonds on the cookies top.
  6. U can make other designs, as per choice on the nankhatai
  7. Place the cookies on a baking tray and bake at 180 °C for 10-15 minutes.
My Tip: Add 1 tsp fresh cream for best results.
