ABOUT Chocolate Cake Modak RECIPE

It's a chocolate cake with a interesting twist to it. Made in shape of a traditional sweet called Modak during "Ganesh Chaturthi"

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Maida- 55 gms
  2. Cocoa powder- 25 gms
  3. Baking powder- 1/4 tsp
  4. Baking soda- 1/4 tsp
  5. Vanilla extract- 1/4 tsp
  6. Butter Milk- 45 ml
  7. Condensed milk- 100 gms

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl beat with blender, butter with condensed milk and cream it.
  2. Add vanilla extract, blend it well. Add the dry ingredients to it( seive it earlier). Beat it well.
  3. Add the butter milk, stir with the spatula ones and beat it again.
  4. Transfer the batter in the greased baking tin. Bake it at 180° for 30 min. After checking if it's done, with tooth pick . Cut the cake in to pieces and grind it to make crumbs.
  5. Add a little butter, Coco powder, milk and little sugar to bind the cake crumbs with your hands.
  6. Lastly grease the modak mould with little flour and then put the cake in to the modak mould taking off the excess to give it an exact shape. Press on all sides of the mould and take it out slowly.
