ABOUT Saago Kheer in Coconut Milk RECIPE

Its a delicious dessert which I tasted in Bangkok made by my bua ji. and I just fell in love with it. Give it a try once you will also love it. Sweet Corn is totally optional but you can try it after Navratri , kids will also jump to have all of it.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Saago/Sabudana 3/4 Cup
  2. Boiled Sweet Corn kernels 1/2 cup
  3. Sugar 3/4 cup
  4. Coconut Milk 200ml
  5. Salt a Pinch
  6. Water 200ml

Instructions

  1. Wash & Soak sabudana for 2-3 hours in enough water to barely cover the top. Fluff the grains using fork every 30 mins.
  2. In a non stick pan put this water along with the sabudana & cook till soft & transparent.
  3. Add corn kernels and stir it for a min.( if you are not fasting).
  4. Add sugar and cook until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  5. Take a separate sauce pan, boil together coconut milk, water & salt. for 2-3 mins.
  6. Keep both the prepared sabudana and milk separately until you serve as this kheer thickens on cooling.
  7. At the time of serving take 1 kithchen table spoon of sabudana and 11/2 kitchen table spoon of milk and warm it up as per your taste.
