Ingredients to make Kalakand

  • paneer - 2 cup Fresh (mashed)
  • Milk powder - 1/2 cup
  • Fresh cream - 1/2 cup
  • sugar - 3/4 cup (as per taste)
  • cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Dry Fruits of your choice
  • edible silver Verk (garnish)

How to make Kalakand

  1. Combine all the ingredients except dry fruits in a deep non stick pan, mix all very well.
  2. Cook the mixture on low medium heat for 10 -15 minutes or till the mixture thickens and starts to leave sides of the pan.
  3. Stir continuously while scraping the sides of the pan in-between.
  4. Now remove the pan from the heat and mix the cardamom powder in it properly.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a greased tray or thali, keep it aside for cooling.
  6. After that sprinkle some chopped pistachios and press them lightly. Let it sit for 2 - 3 hours to set it perfectly.
  7. Now cut it into squares and garnish with edible silver Verk. Take them out carefully on a serving plate.
