ABOUT Sheerkurma RECIPE

A sweet dish made specially on Eid.

Ingredients Serving: 7

  1. milk 2 litres
  2. Sugar 1 1/2 cup
  3. chopped nuts (almonds, pista, cashew )
  4. vermicelli or seviyan 1 cup
  5. Ghee 1 tbsp
  6. cardamom powder a pinch + 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. in a heavy bottom pan, keep the milk for boiling, add about a pinch of cardamom powder.
  2. Cook till it reduces and you see it changing its color.
  3. Now in a clean pan, heat ghee, add about 1/2 tsp of cardamom powder.
  4. Now add the chopped nuts and fry till they are nice crispy and golden.
  5. Now add the sugar and very little water so that sugar dissolves properly.
  6. Now add the boiled milk and mix well.
  7. Again cook for about 10 minutes.
  8. Now add the seviyan and mix well, cook 4 about 5-8 mins.
  9. Cover with a lid and serve warm.
