Coconut Fish Curry

Ingredients to make Coconut Fish Curry

  • Fish of your choice 1/2 kg
  • tamarind pulp 1/2 cup (you can adjust it according to your taste)
  • To grind:
  • 8 tbsp coconut grated
  • 8 small onion
  • 15 red chillies
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • Seasoning:
  • 6 small onions
  • curry leaves 7-8
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, just to give colour

How to make Coconut Fish Curry

  1. Grind the ingredients to a fine paste. Put fish in a bowl with turmeric, salt & lemon juice.
  2. Then add tamarind. Let it boil for 2-3 min.
  3. Then add ground masala with enough water to cook the fish. Cover & cook. Season.
  4. Heat oil, put chopped small onions, curry leaves at the end, add 1/4 tsp chilli powder to add colour to the dish.

My Tip:

Better use big fish, as small fish usually don't go well with coconut gravy.
