Chicken Bharta

Ingredients to make Chicken Bharta

  • 1/2 kg chicken (preferably boneless)
  • 2 big finely chopped onions
  • oil 1 tbsp
  • jeera 1 tsp
  • 1 choti elaichi
  • 1/2 badi elaichi
  • 1 small tej patta
  • 1 piece dal cheeni
  • 2 piece laung
  • 1 big tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp red chilly powder
  • 1 tsp dandiya powder
  • 1/2 tsp haldi
  • 1/2 tsp jeera powder
  • 1 tbsp tandoori masala
  • 2 tbsp curd
  • 10-12 kaju (soaked in warm water) to make kaju paste
  • 1/2 tsp kasuri methi
  • 1/4 cup thick cream

How to make Chicken Bharta

  1. Boil chicken with whole garam masala. Once boiled, strain the chicken stock in a bowl and shred the chicken.
  2. Take oil in a wok, add jeera and onion. Cook onion till light brown in colour.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and all dry powdered masala. Cook for a minute.
  4. Add tomato puree, cook till masala starts leaving oil.
  5. Add shredded chicken, curd and kaju paste.
  6. Add chicken stock as per gravy required.
  7. Finally add kasuri methi and cream to it and cook for 2 mins.
