Ingredients to make Sweet Potato/Ratalu/Shakarkand ke Gulab Jamun

  • Sweet potatoes / Shakarkand boiled 1 (1/2 cup)
  • paneer approx 1/4 cup
  • sabudana powder 1+1/2 table spoon
  • Kishmish few
  • ghee for frying
  • To make sugar syrup:
  • water 1/2 cup
  • sugar 1 cup
  • elaichi powder a pinch
  • saffron strands 5-6

How to make Sweet Potato/Ratalu/Shakarkand ke Gulab Jamun

  1. Mix boiled, peeled &mashed sweet potatoes/ shakarkand in a bowl.
  2. Add grated paneer
  3. Add sabudana powder
  4. Mash & mix nicely.
  5. Knead it nicely.
  6. Divide into small equal proportions.
  7. Place 1 kishmish inside each ball
  8. Now make round balls and make sure there are no cracks on them.
  9. Deep fry in ghee on slow flame. (make sure ghee should not be boiling hot).
  10. Fry till colour changes to golden brown.
  11. Remove and immediately prick with toothpick.
  12. To make sugar syrup:
  13. Mix water and sugar. Boil it.
  14. Add saffron strands.
  15. Make 1 string syrup.
  16. Now put fried balls into syrup and let it soak for about 2 to 3 hours.
  17. Garnish with chopped dry fruits.
