Veg Biryani

Ingredients to make Veg Biryani

  • onion 2 chopped
  • tomato 1 chopped
  • Veggies - carrot, beans, peas
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • salt as per taste
  • cloves 3 nos
  • coriander leaves chopped
  • mint leaves chopped
  • Bread 4 pieces
  • bay leaf 2
  • cashew nuts 10 nos
  • cardamom 4 nos
  • ghee as required
  • oil as required
  • Basmati rice 2 cups
  • For Grinding:
  • Small onion 5 nos
  • garlic 8 nos
  • ginger 2 inch
  • cinnamon 1 stick
  • green chillies 3 nos
  • cloves 3 nos

How to make Veg Biryani

  1. Grind the ingredients given under grinding and make it as paste.
  2. Soak the rice and drain the water and keep aside.
  3. In a pressure cooker heat oil. Add cloves, then onion and saute for 2 mins. Then add tomato and saute it till it smashes.
  4. Add the grinded paste and saute for 2 min.
  5. Then add veggies, coriander leaves, mint leaves, turmeric powder, salt and 5 cups of water.
  6. When the water starts boiling add basmati rice. Stir well and close the pressure cooker. Cook it for 2 whistle.
  7. Cut the bread into small pieces and saute it using ghee.
  8. In a pan heat ghee, add bay leaf, cardamom and cashew. After pressure releases, add this and bread pieces.
