Mava Paneer Gulab Jamun

Ingredients to make Mava Paneer Gulab Jamun

  • Cottage cheese 1 cup
  • Mava 2-3 tsp
  • Milk 2 tsp
  • Baking soda a pinch
  • rava 1 tsp
  • all purpose flour 1 tsp
  • oil for deep fry
  • For syrup:
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Water 1 cup
  • Rose water few drops
  • Saffron a pinch (optional)
  • cardamom powder 1/2 tsp

How to make Mava Paneer Gulab Jamun

  1. Take a mava and milk.
  2. Then add grated paneer, rava, all purpose flour, baking soda and cardamom powder to the mashed khoya.
  3. The dough has to be soft and smooth.
  4. Divide into 20 balls and cover with a damp cloth.
  5. For sugar syrup: Boil water with sugar in a pan. Cook syrup on low heat until it's thickened. Now add rose water and saffron to the syrup.
  6. Take a deep pan, add oil, fry the balls on medium flame until golden brown. Place them over absorbent napkins for 2 mins.
  7. Transfer these fried balls in the warm sugar syrup one by one. Leave the balls into the sugar syrup for 2 hours.
  8. Serve mava paneer gulab jamuns warm or chilled.
My Tip: You can use home made cottage cheese.
