Uppittu (Upama)

Ingredients to make Uppittu (Upama)

  • Rava /suji 1 cup
  • 2 medium sized onion chopped
  • 1 tomato chopped
  • 4 green chillies chopped
  • Cury leaves 10
  • carrot 1 chopped
  • coriander chopped
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • salt to taste
  • urad dal 1 tbsp
  • chana dal 1 tbsp
  • 2 & 1/2 cup water

How to make Uppittu (Upama)

  1. In a pan heat 1 tsp oil on a medium flame and add rava roast it.
  2. In a kadai, heat 4 tbsp oil. Add jeera mustard seeds, urad dal, channa dal, chopped green chillies, curry leaves, chopped onion, carrot, tomato and saute for 4 minutes. Add 1 tsp Sugar, turmeric & mix it well.
  3. Add 2 & 1/2 cup water, add salt as your taste and bring it to a boil.
  4. When it's starting to boil, add roasted rava & mix well & close the lid. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Switch off the flame, add chopped coriander leaves and mix well.

My Tip:

You can use other veggies like beans, green peas,etc
