ABOUT Lauki Raita RECIPE

Cooling, spicy and tangy raita.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 250 gms of lauki
  2. 250 gms curd
  3. 2 green chilli
  4. few sprigs of mint
  5. Black salt
  6. whole cumin 1 tbsp
  7. 1 tbsp oil
  8. Pinch of Asafoetida
  9. few curry leaves
  10. 1/2 tsp cumin whole

Instructions

  1. Boil lauki for 10 minutes or till cooked.
  2. Sieve and discard water (you can drink this water with the hint of black salt and a dash of lemon).
  3. In a mixer jar, put cooled lauki, whole cumin, green chilli, mint and blitz.
  4. Add this mixture in beaten curd, add salt.
  5. In a tadka pan add oil, crackle cumin, put asafoetida and curry leaves and put this tadka in the curd lauki mixture.
  6. Serve cold with biryani or pulav.
