Orange Marmalade Rasna Cake

Ingredients to make Orange Marmalade Rasna Cake

  • maida : 1 cup-250 ml
  • Baking powder : 1 tsp
  • baking soda : 1 pinch
  • Orange Rasna solution : 1/2 cup (Dissolve 3 tsp orange flavour rasna powder in 1/2 cup hot boiling water, so that it dissolves quickly)
  • Powdered sugar : 1/2 cup
  • Unsalted butter : 75 g
  • Orange marmalade : 2 tbsp heaped

How to make Orange Marmalade Rasna Cake

  1. Pre heat oven to 180 C for 10 min.
  2. Grease and dust cake tin properly.
  3. Prepare rasna solution. Keep aside.
  4. In a bowl mix maida, baking powder and baking soda. Keep aside.
  5. In another bowl take butter. Melt it slightly in microwave. Add sugar and mix till sugar dissolves. If need, you can microwave it by stirring in between.
  6. Now add orange marmalade and mix well. Again if needed microwave it. Mix it properly so that no lumps should remain.
  7. Now add butter mixture to maida mix. Mix well.
  8. Add rasna solution to this mixture and mix well.
  9. Consistency of the batter should be thick but pourable.
  10. Pour the batter in the greased cake pan.
  11. Bake + grill in pre heated oven for 30 min.
  12. Check with toothpick, if it comes out clean, it means cake is ready. If not, bake again for 5 min.
  13. Do not over bake the cake. Take it out of the oven. Let it cool.
  14. Take it out on the plate. Sprinkle icing sugar and chocolate syrup on it.
