Chicken Masala

Ingredients to make Chicken Masala

  • chicken 1/2 kg
  • ginger garlic paste 3/4 tsp
  • onion 1 cup chopped
  • salt to taste
  • curd 2 tbsp
  • red chilli powder 3/4 tsp
  • bay leaf 1
  • Green cardamoms 2
  • cinnamon stick 1 small
  • cloves 2
  • sugar 1 tsp
  • turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • tomato 1/2 cup
  • coriander powder 2 tsp
  • cumin powder 1/2 tsp
  • Meat masala 1 tsp
  • chicken masala 1 tsp
  • potato 1 cup
  • Garam masala 3/4 tsp
  • coriander leaves for garnishing

How to make Chicken Masala

  1. Take a kadai, add oil and let it heat.
  2. Add bay leaf, green cardamoms, cinnamon stick, cloves and sugar. As sugar melts, add chopped onions and salt. Fry till onions are brown.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and mix till the raw smell. Add turmeric and red chilly powder. Mix well.
  4. Add tomatoes and salt. Cover and cook till tomatoes are mushy, then add coriander powder, cumin powder, meat masala and chicken masala.
  5. Mix well and lower the flame. Add beaten curd and mix well. Cover and cook till oil separates.
  6. Add chicken pieces and mix well. Cook till chicken is cooked. Add little water, half cut potatoes and garam masala. Cover and cook till chicken is done. Add chopped coriander leaves n serve hot.
