ABOUT Mukandwadi RECIPE

Traditional sindhi dish made of all purpose flour (maida).

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 250 gms Maida
  2. 2 big Tomatoes
  3. 2 tbsp Chana dal
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Red chilli powder 3/4 tsp
  6. Haldi powder 1/2 tsp
  7. Fresh coriander leaves (dhaniya patta) for garnishing
  8. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Make a dough of maida and keep it aside for 2 hours.
  2. Wash the dough under running water till water is clear.
  3. Once the dough is washed, flatten it a little and place it in cooker with 2 tbsp of chana dal and salt in. Pressure cook till 6-7 whistles.
  4. Take the dough out from cooker n cut it in cubes and deep fry till brown.
  5. Beat the chana dal with the help of a beater.
  6. Take oil in a wok and add chopped tomatoes.
  7. Once the tomatoes starts leaving the sides, add salt, haldi powder and red chilli powder. Saute it for a min.
  8. Now add the fried dough and saute it for 2-3 mins. Finally add chana dal to it n again pressure cook till 6-7 whistles. Garnish with dhaniya patta and serve.
