Smoked Egg Curry

Ingredients to make Smoked Egg Curry

  • Boiled eggs 2
  • Medium potato 1
  • yogurt 1/2 cup
  • cream 3 teaspoon
  • tomato ketchup 3 teaspoon
  • garlic paste of 1 clove
  • red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • red chilli flakes 1/2 teaspoon
  • sugar 1 teaspoon
  • salt to taste
  • butter 1/2 teaspoon
  • Refine oil 1/2 teaspoon
  • Charcoal 1 piece

How to make Smoked Egg Curry

  1. Boil the eggs and slice it too half after boiled.
  2. Cut the potatoes into medium sized blocks and marinate the blocks with yogurt, cream, ketchup, red chilli powder, red chilli flakes and garlic (quantities as mentioned in the ingredients). Keep it for 10 mins at room temperature.
  3. Heat the pan. Put the butter and oil (as mentioned in the ingredients) in the preheated pan at low flame.
  4. Pour the marinated potatoes, salt and sugar (as mentioned in the ingredients). Stir it for sometime for about 3-5 mins.
  5. After 15 mins, when the potatoes are baked properly add the half sliced eggs in the mixture. Again stir it for 1-2mins.
  6. Heat the charcoal separately till it becomes red hot. Now put the hot charcoal in a steel small bowl and put it on the pan. Put 2 drops of butter on the hot charcoal and cover the pan immediately so that the smoke remains inside.
  7. After 10 mins remove the cover and the small bowl when it becomes cool.
  8. Garnish with cream and serve with naan or roti.

My Tip:

You can replace the egg with potatoes, meat and paneer.
