Chilly Egg

Ingredients to make Chilly Egg

  • egg 4
  • oil 4 Tsp
  • garlic 4 cloves finely chopped
  • ginger 1 inch finely chopped
  • onion 1 chopped finely
  • tomato 1 chopped finely
  • green chilly 2 chopped finely
  • capsicum 1/2 chopped finely
  • salt to taste
  • sugar 1 tsp
  • red chilly powder 2 tsp
  • peppercorns 1 tsp cracked
  • Soya sauce 2 tsp
  • vinegar 1 tsp
  • chilly sauce 1 tsp
  • Few coriander leaves chopped

How to make Chilly Egg

  1. In a pan add some water and boil the egg till it is hard boiled. Remove the shell and cut the eggs into halves and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and fry the egg halves till golden. Set aside.
  3. In the same oil add the sugar, chopped garlic and ginger and fry for a min.
  4. Add the onions and saute till onion starts to brown.
  5. Add the tomatoes and saute till it turns mushy.
  6. Add the Capsicum and green chillies and saute for a min.
  7. Add the soya sauce, vinegar, chilly sauce, chilli powder, pepper powder, salt, mix well and fry for about 2 mins.
  8. Add the fried eggs and toss well gently coating the masalas well with the egg without separating the yolk from the egg.
  9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve.
