ABOUT Crispy Sweet n Spicy Poha RECIPE

This teatime snack or breakfast dish is an absolute hit....kids love it. Its originally from Canacona, Goa.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 500 g poha
  2. 2 tbsp pure ghee
  3. 1 1/2 cup grated coconut
  4. 5 tbsp jaggery powder
  5. 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  6. Pinch of Asafetida
  7. 1/2 tsp Mustard
  8. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a microwave heat the poha dry along with ghee, a little at a time. The poha become crispy after about 5min. Be sure you micro about 1.5 min at a time with mixing in between.
  2. In a small container add a few drops of ghee, heat and add the mustard seeds and asafetida. Cover till they splatter. Put off flame and just powder with a pestle.
  3. Now take the grated coconut and add all the ingredients except poha to this.
  4. When serving mist both and serve.

A very interesting snack option. Munchy, crunchy and light too.
