Italian Pizza

Ingredients to make Italian Pizza

  • Dough Ingredients:
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tsp dry yeast/ 1 tsp fresh yeast
  • 125 ml olive oil
  • 250 ml warm water
  • A dash of cornmeal to sprinkle on the sheet pan (Makki ka At
  • Topping Ingredients:
  • 2 tomatoes sliced
  • 1/4 cup black olives
  • 1/4 cup corn
  • 3/4 cup tomato paste
  • 6 cloves of garlic finely minced
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese grated
  • 1/2 cup mozzarela cheese grated
  • Handful of parsely/coriander finely chopped to garnish

How to make Italian Pizza

  1. Take a bowl, put in the flour and salt together and mix well.
  2. In a separate small bowl, pour in the warm water and sugar together and stir. Sprinkle in the yeast on top of this warm water. Set aside for 5 minutes until the foam appears on top.
  3. Then pour this yeast mixture along with the oil into the flour and salt. Bring together with your hands to form a rough dough.
  4. Next, transfer this dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead this dough until it is smooth to touch.
  5. Then take a greased bowl and put in the dough. Keep it in a warm place for 40-45 minutes so that it rises and doubles in size.
  6. After this time period, punch the dough once more and again set aside for another 40-45 minutes.
  7. Now, equally divide this dough into 6 pieces. Put the dough pieces on a floured surface and roll them into a 6-inch circle.
  8. Meantime, take 2 sheet pans and lightly dust them with cornmeal.
  9. Now, place the rolled doughs on the prepared sheet pans, then spread the tomato paste evenly with a spatula. Decorate the topping ingredients evenly on top of the pizza doughs.
  10. Preheat the oven to 260 degree celsius.
  11. Finally, sprinkle the grated cheeses on top along with a dash of salt and pepper according to taste.
  12. Bake these pizzas for a time period of 12-15 minutes.
  13. Serve hot with a garnish of chopped parsley on top.
