ABOUT Gulab Jamun RECIPE

Sweets form an integral part of Indian cuisine. Gulab Jamun is one of such sweets which are made in every household. I have many fond memories attached to Gulab Jamun. I remember my mom making them on almost all occasions. She always kept in mind to use fresh ingredients for making them rather the packaged ones. Although there are many ways of making I always stick to traditional one as it gives the best taste and texture. So heres my recipe which I learned from my mother. Hope you all like it.

  1. 100 grams of fresh paneer( Indian cottage cheese)

  3. 500 grams of sugar and water (I prefer less sweet you can increase sugar according to taste).
  4. 3 tbsp of all purpose flour.
  5. 1/4 tsp baking powder.

  7. 1/2 tsp cardamom powder.
  8. Ghee for deep frying.

Instructions

  1. In a plate combine paneer, khoya all purpose flour and baking soda till they are well combined and form soft dough.
  2. Divide the dough in equal sized gulab jamun balls and stuff inside each balls little chopped nuts.
  3. Make sure there are no cracks in them. Deep fry them in medium heat till golden brown. Keep aside.
  4. Now for the syrup boil water and sugar till one string consistency and add in cardamom powder and remaining powdered nuts.
  5. When its still warm add in fried gulab jamuns. Let them soak for a while. Enjoy them when they are still warm.
