Ingredients to make Besan ladoo

  • Two cups of besan /chickpeaflour
  • Half cup granulated sugar
  • Three pods of cardamom
  • One handful of cashewnuts
  • Four tbsp of ghee

How to make Besan ladoo

  1. In a heavy bottom wok roast the chick pea flour on the lowest heat. Please stand by it and keep mixing. Soon the chickpea flour changes colour from pale yellow to a light yellow and the toasted aroma of the flour permeates your senses.
  2. Remove and set aside to cool
  3. Into the processor add sugar, cashews and cardamom and make a fine powder
  4. Mix this with the roasted besan and your ladoo mix is ready
  5. Melt the ghee in a small pan and drizzle in a bit of ghee at a time and formed roundlets
  6. Massage the ghee into the powder so you can form lime sized balls
  7. Enjoy the traditions and make enough to share
