Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Maida - 1 cup
  2. Oil - 1 tbsp
  3. Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  4. Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
  5. Carom seeds/ ajwain - 1/2 tsp
  6. Salt
  7. Oil for Deep frying

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, chilli powder, turmeric, salt and carom seeds in a bowl.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp oil and add into the flour. Mix well.
  3. Add water slowly and make a smooth but hard dough.
  4. Keep aside for one hour.
  5. Heat oil for deep frying.
  6. Make balls from the dough.
  7. Roll like a chapathi and cut into squares or diamonds.
  8. Fry the shankarpali till slightly brown.
  9. Store in an airtight container when cool.
