This Rohu Curry I love the most when my sister prepare....the flavor,color and the aroma what I feel when she cooks....today I made this curry following my sister's recipe

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Rohu Fish:- 1 KG Cut in roundles
  2. Onion:- 3 nos
  3. Garlice:- 6-7 cloves
  4. Ginger:- 2-3 inch pieces
  5. Cummin Seeds:- 1 tsp
  6. Fennel Seed:- 1 tsp
  7. Mustard Seeds:- 1/2 tsp
  8. Methi seeds:- 1/2 tsp
  9. Black pepper:- 9-10kernels
  10. Mustard Oil as required
  11. Kasuri methi:- 1 tsp
  12. Tamarind soaked in hot water
  13. Tomato :- 1no
  14. Coriander Powder:- 1 tbsp
  15. Turmeric Powder:- 1 tsp
  16. Chilly powder:- 1 tbsp
  17. Fish Masala:- 1 tsp
  18. Coriander leaves:- handful chopped

Instructions

  1. Wash fish nicely and marinate with turmeric,salt,chilly powder and lemon juice. Set aside for 1 hour
  2. Grind 2 Onion,garlic,ginger, cummin seeds, methi seeds,mustard seeds,black pepper and fennel seeds to fine paste and set aside
  3. Heat non stick pan and pour some mustard oil once hot add all marinated fish and fry gently both side until it turns light brown in color.
  4. Remove fish from pan and set aside.
  5. In the same pan add kasuri methi fry for sec and add 1 sliced onion, fry until it turns brown in color, add ground masalaand fry until the oil leaves from the side.
  6. Add ground tomato and stir well, add turmeric,coriander powder,red chilly powder and fry well, Cover with lid and allow it cook until the raw smell of tomato goes off
  7. Add water, salt.Fish Masala and tamarind water cover with lid and allow it to cook once again for 6-7 mins
  8. Once gravy starts boiling add fish pieces mix slowly and add coriander leaves.
  9. Switch off the flame and do not open the lid for sometime. Let it set in the gas with the lid on
  10. Serve hot with rice...
