Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. chicken curry cut 800 gms
  2. garlic paste 1 tbs
  3. ginger paste 1 tbs
  4. Roasted cummin powder 1 tsp
  5. coriander powder 1 tbs
  6. Garam masala 1 tsp
  7. yoghurt 400 gms
  8. Brown onion coarsely grinded half cup
  9. cashew paste 2 tbs,a little runny consistency
  10. oil 100 ml
  11. Coal 2 inch pcs + 1 tsp ghee for the angaara effect


  1. Dump every ingredients except the cashew paste and ground brown onions and mix nicely to marinate for one hour
  2. Heat oil in a wide pan and dump the marinated chicken and cook on high heat for 6 or 7 mins. Reduce the heat and cover cook for 15 Mins or till fat appears on top.
  3. Now tip in the ground onion and cashew paste and mix well. Cook on low till done and keep it covered
  4. For the angaara take the coal and smoulder on a burner till red hot. Place a katori in the middle of the pan with chicken in it. Tip the coal...pour ghee and it will smoke heavily. Immediately cover with a lid and let it rest for 10 mins. Enjoyy with practically anything like parantha ..phulka...chawal
