Ingredients to make Malai chumchum

  • For paneer or chenna
  • 1 liter full fat milk
  • 2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 table spoon water
  • For sugar syurp
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 cup water
  • kesar strands 10-12
  • rose essence 1-2 drops
  • For Chum chum
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 pinch orange or pink or any food color of your choice..its optional
  • For filling of mawa
  • 1/4 cup grated mawa
  • Sliced pistachio and almonds
  • 2 tbsp sugar powder
  • FOR GARNISH
  • Sliced almonds pistachio and kesar soaked in milk..

How to make Malai chumchum

  1. First boil milk add lemon juice water mixture..when milk started curdle switch off the flame..strain paneer in muslin cloth and wash it with cold water..hang this paneer mixture on tap till all water comes out..
  2. Knead paneer with corn flour and Pinch of food color till it leaves fat..now make cylinder shape balls and flatten it with little bit.. keep it in plate..
  3. Now add sugar water rose essence and kesar in heavy bottom pan and boil it till sugar dissolve..
  4. Add paneer balls in it and cover the pan with lid for 7-8 minutes on high flame..now remove lid and boil it another 4-5minutes..now balls double up..in size..take out all Chum chum in a plate..and let it cool completely..
  5. Grated mawa add sugar powder add sliced pistachio and almonds and mix well..
  6. Cut chum chum vertically carefully and fill it with mawa filling..pour some sugar syrup on it..
  7. Garnish it with sliced almonds pistachio and kesar strands..
  8. Keep it in fridge..
  9. Serve chill..

My Tip:

You can fill it with condensed milk or rabdi..
