ABOUT GULAB JAMUN WITH VANILLA ICE CREAM RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 12

  1. 1 cup - milk powder
  2. 4 tbsp - maida
  3. 1/4 tsp - baking soda
  4. 1/2 tsp - ghee or oil
  5. 1 to 2 tbsp - yogurt
  6. 1 tbsp - almond and pistachios, sliced
  7. Oil or ghee for frying
  8. For the Sugar Syrup:
  9. 2 cups - sugar
  10. 1 cup - water
  11. a pinch of saffron (optional)
  12. 1 tsp - rose water or cardamom powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Into a mixing bowl add the milk powder, maida, baking soda with 1/2 tsp of ghee. Mix in the yogurt and knead gently to form a dough. Add 1 tbsp of yogurt first and add more only if needed. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Make smooth small balls out of this and deep fry them in hot oil or ghee. Keep the heat on medium and fry them turning on all sides. Using ghee will be more tastier.
  3. Now prepare the sugar syrup. Add sugar and water into a sauce pan. Let it boil and add the saffron. Remove this syrup into a deep dish and put the fried jamuns in it.
  4. Let it soak in the sugar syrup for 1 to 2 hours covered. Serve this yummy mouth watering delight with ice cream to make it more and more delicious. Garnish with chopped almonds and pistachios. Enjoy this with your loved ones.
