ABOUT CUSTARD APPLE OR SITAPHAL BASUNDI RECIPE

A special Gujarati dessert flavored with seasonal fresh custard apple for a different taste.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 1/2 ltr - milk
  2. 300 gms - condensed milk
  3. 2 or 3 nos - custard apple
  4. 1 tsp - Cardamom powder
  5. few tablespoons of cashews, almonds and pistachios, chopped
  6. Few strands of Saffron

Instructions

  1. Add milk and condensed milk in a sauce pan. Let it boil on low flame stirring occassionally. Scrape down the cream sticking on sides of the pan back into the milk mixture.
  2. If it has reached to the desired consistency turn off the heat and add the cardamom powder and saffron. Let it cool to room temperature.
  3. Now add the mashed custard apple to this and stir. Pour them to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped nuts and saffron strands.
