Kesar Pista Biscuits (egg-less)

Ingredients to make Kesar Pista Biscuits (egg-less)

  • 1/4 Cup Butter (unsalted or salted any)
  • 1/4 Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup + 2 tbsp Plain Flour/Maida
  • 1/4 Cup custard Powder
  • 1 1/2 tbsp of warm milk
  • 1/4 Tsp saffron strands
  • 1/4 Tsp of baking powder
  • 2 Tbsp chopped pistachios

How to make Kesar Pista Biscuits (egg-less)

  1. Soak saffron in milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes. Using a spoon, mash the saffron to get the maximum flavor. Keep aside.
  2. Meanwhile, beat butter and sugar till light and fluffy. Add milk – saffron mixture and pistachios.
  3. Mix well. Start adding sieved flour, custard powder and baking powder.
  4. Using a spatula, bind everything together to form a dough. Make sure no lumps are formed.
  5. Divide the dough into equal lemon sized balls and give it the shape you desire. Bake in a preheated oven for 15 minutes at 180°C.
My Tip: All ovens are different so timings may vary. Take it out when sides turns brown. I used salted butter.
