Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. Palak washed and fine chopped 1 cup
  2. Rice 2 Tablespoon
  3. Green moong dal 1 tablespoon
  4. Small Onion 1
  5. Green chilly as per child's liking to make it spicy
  6. Small tomato 1
  7. Small clove of garlic 1
  8. Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
  9. salt as per taste
  10. Ghee 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Soak together rice n dal for half an hour wash thoroughly n keep ready
  2. Fine chop onions garlic and green chilly. Also fine chop tomato separately.
  3. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add onions green chilly n garlic. Saute till onions turns light golden on low flame.
  4. Add chopped palak. Saute well. Add salt and turmeric. Saute on low flame.
  5. After a minute add tomatoes. Saute for another minute.
  6. Add soaked dal rice. Add sufficient water to get khichdi consistency. Close the lid and leave on full flame. After one whistle lower the flame and let it cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  7. Open after cooker has cooled down. Mash it well with wooden spatula.
  8. Healthy khichdi is ready.
